Getting back

I have been in my sewing mode lately and have not made any cards for our heroes in months. Yesterday I decided to get back into my card making mode.
I am bound and determined to whittle down my paper stash so I can buy some of the beautiful papers I have been seeing.
In this card I used one of the Cutting Cafe Happy Anniversary digital stamps.  I changed the color of the word "Love" to red using Photoshop Elements 9.  The gold scallop circle was made with the Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Circles Large. This is a very easy card to make and took no time at all.

Yet, another reason why I make cards for our heroes.

Dear Ms. Sandy,

     We just received your box of cards for our detachment.  Thank you so much!  Your cards are much sought after and many of our troops were excited to see the new cards come through.  I really liked the Halloween cards and picked up a couple to send to my son and nieces and nephews.  Thank you also for the handwritten notes for the troops.  We decided that they would be best for our patients.  We’re planning on putting a note on each of the patient’s beds when they first arrive so they have something positive to think about as they recover.  Once again, thank you so much!!!

No idle hands

I realize it's been a week since I've posted but I have not been watching TV and eating bon bons.

This is a sample of the cards I have been making for Operation Write Home.

I have been learning the ins and outs of digital stamping and also using up some of my scraps. These "digis" are just a few I've found at the The Cutting Cafe.
