Here is another counted cross stitch item I have been working on for a number of years. I moved along with it at a quick pace, then I got to the backstitch portion and came to a screeching halt. The reason for the halt, the backstitch instructions were not laid out very well and when the counted cross stitch aficionados I spoke with couldn't figure it out either I said "I'll just wing it.".
The design is titled "Under the Oaks" by Barbara and Cheryl. Once again, it is a scene from Charleston, SC.

25 Years To Complete
No one can say I start a project and never finish it, the process may take years....like 25....but I complete it.
In my April 8, 2011 I explained the story of this Noah's Ark sampler. At that time I thought I would give it to a great grandchild but now I know my new grandchild will be the recipient.

WIP
I came across this work in progress while going through some boxes that haven't seen the light of day in a couple of years.
The issue date of the magazine is January/February 1987. I'm positive I started the project right after I bought the magazine 24 years ago. The pages are very yellow, thank goodness I made copies of the instructions way back when.
If my memory serves me right, my plan for this counted cross stitch was for a grandchild.
Well, I have 4 grandchildren ages 15 to 9 and I think by the time I do finish this they will be a little old for Noah's Ark. Ok, I've got it - I have 10 to 15 years to finish it for a great grandchild.
I'm working on it in the evenings while I'm in my counted cross stitch mood however long it will last.
